Engagement rate

Actions divided by views

Enter views and actions, then calculate. Your numbers never leave this page.

How the engagement rate is calculated

Engagement rate = (likes + reposts + replies + quotes + bookmarks) ÷ views × 100. Each action counts once, and views is the number of times the post was seen. A post with 50 actions on 1,000 views has a 5% engagement rate.

If you enter follower count, the calculator also shows the rate against followers. That number tells you how far the post reached beyond the account's own audience, but it is not a substitute for the view-based rate.

To compare posts fairly, use the same formula for all of them. For a whole account, the X profile analyzer works out the median engagement rate across recent original posts, which is a steadier benchmark than any single post.

Engagement rate FAQ

What is engagement rate on X?

Engagement rate is the share of people who interacted with a post. This calculator uses likes, reposts, replies, quotes and bookmarks divided by views, so it measures interactions relative to how many people saw the post.

How do I calculate engagement rate on X?

Add likes, reposts, replies, quotes and bookmarks together, then divide by the post's views. Multiply by 100 to get a percentage. For example, 50 interactions on 1,000 views is a 5% engagement rate.

Why is my engagement rate lower than other tools show?

Tools use different formulas. Some divide by followers instead of views, and some count fewer actions. Compare posts using the same formula, not numbers from different calculators.

What is a good engagement rate on X?

There is no universal good number. It depends on account size, topic and audience. The most useful benchmark is your own median across recent posts, which the X profile analyzer calculates for any account.

Does this calculator store my numbers?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is saved on a server.

Can I calculate the rate from a post link?

Yes. Paste a public post link and the calculator fills in the numbers it can read from the post. You can still edit any value before calculating.
